    Description

Machine condition data cluster 5 Earth-moving machinery Concrete Technology | DE-German

For the machines considered in the cluster – concrete pumps, truck mixers, etc. – there is currently no standard that OEMs can use to provide machine operators with the data they need in a uniform manner across all manufacturers.

For this reason, OEMs currently offer isolated solutions for providing machine data, which are difficult or impossible for operators of mixed fleets to manage uniformly, e.g. within fleet management systems, or to integrate into higher-level systems for efficient process mapping.

The overarching goal of the cluster is to significantly improve this situation by creating a practical standard for manufacturers and operators based on ISO 15143. The results must be developed jointly with all stakeholders, from manufacturers and service providers to end users, in order to create real added value for the industry.

However, the machine status data defined in ISO 15143 is not universally applicable to the machines considered in the cluster. In addition, some of the defined data is not regulated in sufficient detail and is open to interpretation, which prevents uniform data provision. Furthermore, the data set described in ISO 15143 only covers part of the machine status data relevant to machine operators for the machines considered in the cluster. This means that the specific processes on the construction site or in higher-level logistics cannot be mapped.

In the first step, the definitions of ISO 15143 were applied to the machines under consideration in the cluster. In doing so, it was determined which of the defined data fields are applicable and how they are to be interpreted uniformly.

    About the Authors

    The framework
With currently 105 members from seven European countries, the Machines in Construction MiC 4.0 working group is the largest network organisation and central body in Europe concerned with a uniform digital language and a common understanding of data content and its meaning.

    The problem
Every construction equipment manufacturer has its own "digitalisation model".
Users have to create individual solutions themselves, which is time-consuming and costly.

    The goal
A cross-manufacturer and cross-industry understanding and comprehensive communication of digital condition, process and quality data along the entire construction process.
"MiC 4.0 conformity" of construction machinery and building material plants in the digital environment
A uniform data format for users and operators of machinery

    The solution
Joint development of solutions regarding data, data format and data transmission
    Transmission of ISO standard-compliant data
    Manufacturer-independent and machine-type-independent data format
