Fatigue strength tests were carried out on the cast material EN-GJS-900-2 and the quenched and tempered steel 42CrMoS4 (Rm = 1100 MPa and Rm = 1350 MPa) on smooth specimens, notched specimens (Kt=1.75) and notched, shot-peened specimens at R = -1 and R = 0. The limit number of cycles was NG = 2 when using conventional testing technology
