Description
EDV-System zur Verwaltung, Erfassung und Auswertung von langzeitigen Versuchsdaten zur Stahlanwendun
FKM 2006 Issue No. 294 Project No. 268
Final report
Abstract:
The testing and investigation of materials for high-temperature applications generates extensive data that is required for the design, calculation, construction and monitoring of the components used. Characteristic of this steel data from creep, fatigue and creep fatigue tests is the description of the long-term behavior and the long-term properties of the materials, because the design life of the components is often more than 100,000 hours. The so-called ZSF system was set up in 1989-92 on the initiative of the working groups for high-temperature steels and high-temperature materials to store and manage the data. As this database was already very outdated at the beginning of the 2000s, the steering committees of the working groups decided to set up a new IT system. In order to guarantee the exceptionally long planned operating time of 20 years, the new system was implemented entirely with open source software. Trial operation of the IT system with a limited range of functions began at the start of 2005. The work was completed at the end of the project period. The new IT system makes a major contribution to the provision of valuable long-term data for steel applications for the benefit of industry, with the information being available to steel manufacturers and users alike. The objective of the research project has been achieved.
