Abstract:
Melt-cement technology allows the production of injection molded components that cannot be realized with conventional methods due to non-removable undercuts and internal geometries. Melt-cement technology is the technology of choice, particularly for components that require precise internal geometries with a long service life. FKM No. 228 Experience has so far only been gained in the processing of PA66 in. The suitability of almost all other materials for this special process was highly uncertain. Against this background, the objective of the research project was to develop a system for identifying materials that can be processed using the melt core technique. The most important result of the research project, in addition to findings that lead to the economic viability of this technology, is the development of such a system for product developers and processors. It allows a statement to be made about the suitability of any fused-cement technology as early as the product design phase. It is a guideline for the design and processing of components using fused-cement technology. In addition, the practical investigations have already led to an overview of numerous evaluations with regard to suitability for fused-cement technology.
