Description

Simulation von Riementrieben mit und ohne Spannelementen

FKM 1999 Issue No. 240 Project No. 206
Abstract:
Simulation calculations in drivetrains are necessary in order to be able to make statements about their operating behavior as early as the design phase. In order to effectively reduce the amount of experimentation and testing required, precise calculation models are needed that reproduce the relevant effects as realistically as possible. Such models were not previously available for synchronous belt transmissions. The methods used only correctly reproduced the transmission behavior at selected operating points and were not able to correctly map the sometimes drastic influence of operating parameters, especially the preload force and its interaction with the operating forces. This fact plays a particularly important role in multi-pulley drives, as the load distribution in the individual belt spaces depends heavily on the load situation in the entire belt drive. In order to enable a realistic simulation of synchronous belt drives, a calculation model had to be created that would map the processes on the wrap arcs in particular with sufficient quality. In addition to the bedding mechanisms on the belt tooth and tooth base (backlash-related stiffness, friction), the running-in conditions of the belt into the pulleys and the pitch differences between belt and pulleys had to be modeled. In order to do justice to the increasing influence of automatic tensioning elements in synchronous belt drives, a tensioning element effect model had to be created and incorporated into the simulation calculation. The validity of the simulation models was verified by comparison with measurement results and the applicability of the calculation programs was proven. The very high calculation times require a refinement of the program for practical use. The objective of the project was achieved.
