Untersuchungen zur Gestaltfestigkeit und zur Fugendruckverteilung von Kegelpressverbänden
FKM 1995
Booklet No. 207
Project No. 153
Abstract:
As part of the research project, systematic investigations were carried out into the dimensional stability of conical compression bracing with the aim of determining notch effect numbers, taking into account important influencing variables. Tapered interference fits with a taper ratio of 1:30 were investigated under alternating torsion, rotating bending and a combined load of rotating bending and static torsion. The cone interference fits were designed as longitudinal interference fits, whereby the joining was carried out under both elastic and elastoplastic hub loading. The results of the tests show a relatively low influence of the joint pressure on the dimensional stability of the conical interference fit. Similarly, no reduction in the circumferential bending strength could be demonstrated when a static torsion was superimposed. This behavior expresses the decisive influence of a superimposed frictional fatigue load. SEM images of the shaft in the area of the hub edge prove the influence of this frictional fatigue stress in relation to the formation of cracks. The corresponding material fatigue strengths were determined in parallel to the design strength tests. The notch impact coefficients determined from this can be easily classified in the values known for cylindrical press fits. Scope of report:
