Insufficient awareness might result in disappointment concerning budget, time schedule and performance (economical, reliable and safe). This should be prevented. The FEM (European Federation of Material Handling) Product Groups “Intralogistic Systems” and “Racking & Shelving” have therefore decided to initiate a joined activity to give guidance to end-users, system designers / planners, contractors and sub-contractors. This has resulted in the Industry Code of Practice FEM 9.841 / 10.2.10 - Storage systems with rail dependent storage and retrieval equipment – Interfaces, in addition to EN 15629. It serves as a reference and orientation regarding the points raised.
This Code of Practice specifies also the position, obligations and responsibilities of the parties involved.
