Machine condition data cluster 4 Earth-moving machinery Road construction machinery

The overarching goal of the road construction machinery cluster is to create a uniform understanding/standard for the definitions in ISO 15143. Some parameters are not regulated in sufficient detail within the ISO standard. Furthermore, some of the parameters listed there are not relevant for practical use.

The lack of standardisation leaves room for interpretation, which allows for different definitions on the part of OEMs and thus causes corresponding isolated solutions (data silos) on the part of users.

This makes it very difficult or even impossible for machine users to make meaningful use of the data, compare different manufacturers, and connect machine status data to internal systems and processes.

In order to increase the usability and application possibilities of the data, the parameters and their meanings must be regulated in detail and clearly, in collaboration with all parties involved, from manufacturers and service providers to end users.

This standardisation is intended to create clear added value for users in the machine status data defined in ISO 15143-3. Manufacturers benefit from a targeted, cross-manufacturer definition while avoiding isolated solutions and individual interpretations.
