Guide and Training Materials on the VDMA ZVEI Code of Conduct

In addition to the Code of Conduct published by ZVEI and VDMA in January 2022, further supporting materials (a guide and training materials) have been developed and are now available exclusively and free of charge to member companies of VDMA and ZVEI. These resources are designed to help companies appropriately implement the compliance and sustainability provisions of the Code of Conduct and provide further information and guidance, particularly regarding the implementation of sustainability-related topics. The following documents are available and can be downloaded below in German and English: An Implementation Guide (PDF) As well as two training materials (PPT) – a short version and a long version – that you can use within your company to inform employees about the contents of the Code of Conduct or to train them on the topics covered. Compliance and sustainability requirements are constantly increasing and are increasingly becoming a prerequisite for business relationships. With the cross-industry Code of Conduct, which the VDMA developed in 2021 in collaboration with the ZVEI and members of both associations, the associations aim to support companies in this endeavor. The Code of Conduct is available to member companies, their suppliers, and all interested parties. Supporting tools (including an implementation guide and training materials) for applying the Code of Conduct within companies are now available. For VDMA member companies, these are available free of charge in the members’ area of the VDMA website (link provided). This cross-industry Code of Conduct outlines principles and standards of conduct relevant to the mechanical and plant engineering sectors as well as the electrical and digital industries, which the signatory company must observe in the spirit of responsible business conduct. The ZVEI-VDMA Code of Conduct is based on internationally established standards and covers the relevant topics. Its application is voluntary, and it constitutes a non-binding association recommendation. The Code of Conduct is designed as a voluntary commitment that can be applied and communicated both within the company and to partners such as customers and suppliers.
